Luu (Canada): By J. Luu: My previous kettle of 6 years, the Phillips Essence, finally keeled over so I picked up a Breville one simply based on the reputation of the brand. So far I like it. The water is quick to boil and the construction of the kettle itself is pretty good also it doesn't look bad at all. I thought about getting the stainless steel one but its heavier and more expensive. The lid opens smoothly with a touch of the button on the handle so there's not any pulling involved which is great. My only gripe is that it doesn't have a chime for when the water is done boiling. Not a huge deal but still a small inconvenience, usually Breville thinks about those small things and does something about it. Now if this lasts me for like 5+ years I'll be truly a happy customer.
